I saw my daddy off once again on Sunday. I cried all the way back from the Airport. It will be 6 months before I get to see him again, and I’m going to miss him so much. I took this short video clip of him playing his favorite song on the harmonica just before…

I would sit on the tip of this point and be in awe taking in the marvelous sunsets. I would always set a plate for my little friend. (Click on the video to see his brief appearance) Leaping Lizards! I had to bring the sunset home with me…..sit back, relax and enjoy!

A truly beautiful post Silvana. I felt like you could read my mind, I am glad that you found have peace and tranquility. For body and soul you have owed it to yourself. Thanks for your pointers leading me into reaching further and to be honest with oneself. It is vital to have deep faith, for we are small and be thankful to this precious life we were given.

Silvana, I spoke with you for a Rangefinder article some years ago, and you inspired me to follow my dream. I have a studio now and it’s growing so fast I feel like I can’t keep up. This was the most timely post. Thank you for reminding me that I need to keep my focus on what’s really important. You are a true inspiration. God bless!

Thank you for your encouraging words. What a great reminder! We need to sit at the feet of Jesus and keep our eyes on Him and the cross and what He has done for us on that cross. Without Him, there is no hope! But with Him and the forgiveness of our sins, there is such joy
The most important thing in life is what we do with Jesus…Is He our Savior and Lord? Thanks again for your words of encouragement and for your beautiful talent that the Lord has given to you with your gift of photography. It is a blessing to many of us ![]()

Silvana,
You are such a gem. If it was that amazing for you to spend time close to Jesus – imagine how HE treasured it!!!! That’s ALL he wants from us. This brings renewed meaning to the bible verse ” do not conform to this world….” such amazing truth. I am very inspired by this. I also feel as though I am coming up from the darkness, and that’s okay because trials bring us closer to our King!!!! Way to be bold …may HE bless you greatly this year as you are bringing him such GLORY!!! xoxox

Silvana,
Thank you so much for your honestly and vulnerability. So refreshing. I, too, find myself with head spinning and eyes glazing in front of the computer. And I only do photography part time at this point.
Extended times with God, for me, have been the single most important practice in my relationship with Him. It is during these times, that my insides slow down enough to remember who He truly is, His love for me, and – perspective seems to always show up in at least one area of my life.
In our work with Christian leaders, extended times with God are one of the experiences that they treasure the most. In this hurried culture – quiet, solitude, listening – these are lost arts. We try to help others (and ourselves) remember to pull away and listen to Him.
Thank you again for sharing. Your story encouraged me personally. Thank you.

I’m so happy for you Silvana and I know how much you really needed this vacation. We all need to refresh. In our need to be a success and do well in our business, we forget that we that we need space to also breathe!

Silvana! What a beautiful expression of Gods love. Such a wake up call!
I think that everyone feels that emptiness that you spoke of from time to time. The only way to find fulfillment is to put down the laptop and open yourself up to God. I’m so glad you could find so much clarity and peace by taking this trip. You can tell that God was really there with you in the spirit of that little bird and with the beauty of the landscapes taken with nothing more than an iphone… Much love to you ![]()

AMEN!!! I, too, came to this almost a year ago… I was so focused on my photography and caught up in the worldliness of it that I forgot Who should be first in my life.. And the more caught up in my photography I got, the more frustrated and unhappy I became. And then, I too, realized I was missing my daily time with God and shoving Him out of my life and putting photography in His place. Not to mention my family time was suffering and my little boy was missing his mom. I since have quit doing photography as a “business” and I just do some for me for fun and I’ve never been happier! I feel like that is where God wants me and that He and my family are supposed to be my priority right now. So, thank you for your words……. it’s very comforting to know that I’m not the only one who has felt this way. And it’s so good to hear others share as a reminder of how God works in our lives for His good and that He should always be most important in our lives! Okay – off to read my Bible now!! -Kelly

Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing this. I’m typing through tears right now. I’m jealous of your trip. I too need so badly to put this laptop down and open my Bible. I have followed your blog because I was a fan of your gift, I now will look forward to any personal messages as well since I see you are a sister in Christ and a testimony to what faith in Him can do. Your words are a reminder and an encouragement to me.
Again…thank you.

Wow what a risky, bold statement to a society obsessed with success and consumption. I also loved the pics.. I have thousands of dollars worth of equipment and would love to be able to get pictures as beautiful as these. Very well done.
