I should have posted this a while ago……but as usual my biggest struggle is with time!
Back in February, I once again had the pleasure of attending the WPPI Convention in Las Vegas where I had so much fun! The Wedding & Portrait Photographer’s International Convention is a yearly convention where photographers gather from all over the world. I connected with so many great photographers and just got to play for a while. I also entered my prints into competition and was shocked to once again hear my name called during the Awards Reception night! What??! I had won 3rd place Internationally in the Engagment category. Wow…that just blew me away as I really didn’t think I stood a chance with all the great images I saw during the judging. I also had 9 prints receive Awards of Accolades. Again, I believe I won because God orchestrated it…….so all the glory goes to Him! You can see the winning image below which I entitled “SPLAT!” Thank-you to my amazing couple Jennifer & Jason who so willingly sprawled themselves over the windshield of their plane for me!
Well…there’s a whole lot more to the Vegas story…so read on below about what happened as I rushed to the Airport before the Award’s Ceremony had ended…..

Here’s a slideshow of all my images that received Awards of Accolades
Okay….so now we’re getting to the good part. I rushed off to the airport to catch the “red-eye” flight back to Toronto. I was really exhausted. I started to feel a little ill about 1/2 hour before landing. Well, it just got worse by the minute. As soon as the pilot landed the plane (which seemed like forever), everyone sprung up and hustled to get their bags. I, however, slowly crawled out of my seat and lay down on my back in the middle of the aisle floor. I saw lots of eyes staring down at me and heard a few gasps. But I didn’t care. The flight attendants, and eventually pilot, rushed over. Paramedics were called. I was taken off the plane on a stretcher and rushed to Emergency. I could vaguely hear the flight attendants telling paramedics: “yeah…..she just flew in from Vegas”. Okay, I could tell where this was going and what they were thinking. But I am not a “partyer”….and I don’t drink at all! Zero! Really!
Anyways, I rested for a while at the hospital and eventually started to feel better. I seriuosly think it was a case of food poisoning.
Never a dull moment……
